I purchased three gallons of the clay paint. I painted directly over old plaster walls that had been stripped of wallpaper and thoroughly cleaned. I am not happy with the results. I have two main concerns. First, it took 3 times as much paint to cover the walls than it says on the website. Second, when finished the color is not uniform. There are splotches and streaks of a lighter color. Where I painted directly onto one wall that was brand new drywall, the color is uniform and beautiful. I shared my concerns with Bioshield and was told they don't understand what could be the problem. They said it must be an application problem as they have never heard of this problem with the product. From my experience, I definitely would not recommend this product for painting over old plaster walls. I also would not recommend using their products at all, as the company will not stand by their products. This is a big disappointment to me as I was very excited to have a natural material over my plaster walls. Now I guess my only alternative is to go will latex paint. $250 experiment gone bad :(

I called the sales department in Santa Fe, NM to see if they could ship a small bottle via USPS instead of Fed Ex. With FedEx, the shipping was extremely high for a very small item. It's common for companies to provide shipping options, so it seemed like a fair question. I was very disappointed by the rude response I got. The sales person said, in a very rude tone, "We don't negotiate shipping. And we can't ship USPS because we aren't going to go to the post office and stand in line for an hour." I guess he doesn't know about the post office's Flat Rate Shipping boxes that are prepaid for and stocked in shipping departments all over the country. Anyway, he told me if I didn't like their shipping policy, he was fine with losing my business. Wow.
